Carmen has been awarded an Individual Predoctoral Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA: F31 AG055331) to examine learning and/or aging-related intrinsic excitability change(s) in principal neurons of lateral entorhinal cortex. Her NRSA is entitled “Functional Properties of the Lateral Entorhinal Cortex in Learning and Aging”.
